By which I would mean to say:
"A proven method followed consistently and with an experienced teacher".
It doesn't matter whether thats Reinhardt pedagogy, CG pedagogy, Callet, BE etc (and note, I'm not endorsing any of these specifically) - what matters is that it's a proven method that the student buys into, follows consistently (not chopping and changing between methods whenever they lose patience) and with a teacher who knows the ropes, preferrably with the particular method in question.
There's no special high-range schools required - it's a natural extension of good mechanics and there are several different roads that can be travelled with apparent success... it doesn't matter that some of these methods contradict each other (some encourage pedals, some forbid them; some encourage buzzing and some scorn it; etc) what matters is that there are students who have followed them consistently and achieved astonishing results.

Why, "Double High C In 37 Weeks", of course.
Actually (and I did pick up on your facetiousness here), I used parts of that in high school, under the supervision of a very good private teacher, and got good results. That being said though, that was also at the time I became serious and began practicing 3-5 hours (the five hours mainly during summers and on weekends) per day; so was it the method book or just solid hours of fundamentals and everything else practice? Maybe some of both.
Back to the OP: it’s just a matter of time before some takes issue with the obvious intent of this “poll.” Speaking for myself only, when certain people here repeatedly post opinions that I vehemently disagree with, I do try to just ignore it. But especially when those opinions and “advice” are given to possibly impressionable students, I have a lot more trouble ignoring it.
Damn Brad i thought it was tongue forward- no wonder I can't do triples.

There you go, problem solved.
You may make payment via paypal, my paypal address is: world’sgreatesthighnoteguy@iknowitall.org.
In lieu of that, you may just send me your favorite horn as payment, prepaid Fedex shipping to my door a’la Ron Meza.

Nice job, Brad! I certainly got a chuckle out of the paypal address! That one must be shared by a lot of trumpet players, the same players that greet you with "the trumpeter's handshake" ("Hi, I'm better than you!").
You're inspiring me to get a rubber stamp made to give autographs that says "Warmest Personal Regards. Studley Cooldip. Register to Worship Me at world'sgreatesthighnoteguy@iknowitall.org." _________________ HERMOKIWI
I watched the movie again, and Hermokiwi might be on to something. During one of the sales pitches, Prof Hill mentions "Trumpeters improvising an octave above the score."
Sorry about saying that it was only for trombones.

Harold Hill also tells Mrs. Paroo about the "great Irish cornet players ... O'Clarke, O'Mendez, and O'Klein". He's referencing the (obviously non-Irish) real life trumpet/cornet virtuosos Herbert Clarke, Rafael Mendez and Mannie Klein. _________________ HERMOKIWI
By voting something else, I was casting a vote for Claude Gordon's method. I only had a year';s exposure to it but it does work. I don;t have the time know to do it right, now. Which is why I posted under expanding range: would it be better to play songs you like above the staff?

The line is "and trumpeters who'd improvise a full octave higher than the score!"
The marching band at the end included members of the USC Spirit of Troy band, and all the instruments were made in Fullerton by Olds. The marching band parade is conclusive proof that the Think System will get you to quadrupa C in two acts with a brief intermission. _________________ '75 Bach Strad 180ML/37

It is much less about the book you use and much MORE about the player TRYING to do more consistently.
You need to change how you THINK about practice and playing. _________________ Clint 'Pops' McLaughlin

What the heck are we going to do about this troublemaker Johnny Mohan??
What the best high range development system? Imo - Lynn Nicholson's Protocol and Cat Anderson's 20 min G with the teeth closed to enforce the unfurled position.
