This Christmas, I got an Elkhart 100TR trumpet. it's clearly second hand, as every tuning slide is stuck in place. one is pulled out slightly and I can see some red green discoloration to it. there is also some red discoloration between the other slides and the rest of it.
Anyone know how to get them to move? |

Apply some drips of Corrosion Cracker and wait a few minutes. It's what several techs do at the shop. |

And you probably know this, but don’t try to force them out; you can pull off the slide crooks, break braces, etc. It’s cheaper to have a tech loosen and remove them than to get it repaired after you break something.

I would spend the money for a tech to do it. The chance is high that you could do some damage if you attempt it yourself.. |
