Hey. Not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but it looks like Mr. Durham is out (retired) as Principal from Richmond. You can view the current roster here: https://www.richmondsymphony.com/who-we-are/symphony-2/ and see that Strawley is holding things down. Bowden is continuing to tour with her quintet (Seraph Brass). Haven't seen any postings for audition calls on the website. Rolla Durham was Principal with Richmond from '75-'16 (40 yrs). Graduated from Julliard. His instructors were Mel Broiles(I think) and William Vacciano.

So our trumpet section in the North Carolina Symphony is celebrating 30 years of playing together without any breaks or interruptions due to sabbaticals, illness, etc. I have not researched this but am wondering if this might be some sort of record we have going. Anyone know of a section that's played together longer than ours?

Paul,

It definitely sounds like a record to me! See this post for some research that was done a number of years ago. Congratulations on your section's 30 year anniversary!
