Trumpet Players,
For fun...what is your mouthpiece count as of right now in your house, and if you had to throw them all out except for one, which one would you keep? _________________ My go-to Trumpet and Flugel: Thane.

Somewhere between 50 and 100.

Ha! I sold a whole bunch a while back... I have probably about 25 left, but at my peak I had about 75.
My Curry 3C. in Bach blank is my "money-maker" and I don't know what the heck I'd do without it - I use it on 98% of my gigs.
(On C trumpet, Curry 3BC., and on flugelhorn, Curry 3-FLD.)
But if we're talking Bb trumpet only, I would happily throw out the rest of my mouthpieces and keep the Curry 3C. What a great piece. _________________ Yamaha 8310Z trumpet

ARRGH..... only one? WHAT?
50-75, some I've used, some I've collected and some available for my students to try...
my one - Curry 3C, hands down/easy choice. I use it more than any other by a large margin. _________________ Freelance Performer/Educator

Right now... about 50 - at one point was over 200
Couldn't possibly get down to just one... would struggle to get down to "just" 5. |

Hmm, without looking it's probably in the 10-15 range. If I had to keep one it would probably be my Yamaha 17C4 23th/24bb. Nice rim, nice sound, good response... |

Yep. Just one. That's the second time so far a Curry 3C has been mentioned. _________________ My go-to Trumpet and Flugel: Thane.

Just three Currys.
Mild - 3C.
Medium - 3M.
Hot - 3Z..
If I had to pick one, I'd go with the M. |

I must have 506- mouthpieces, but then again, I have 30 horns, each of which has mouthpiece that matches it well. It's not like I could take my tuba 'piece and use it on my picc, after all. |

I have the largest number of mouthpieces that I have ever had at this moment:
6, all are based on the Reeves 41 Rim, so different bottoms for different situations.
Limited to just 1, it would be my Reeves 41C692. That would cover a lot of bases!
Glad this is a rhetorical question!

Without counting them, probably around 30. Some trumpet, some cornet, some flugel, and a bunch of junk ones that came with used horns I've bought.
The one I'd keep if I had to get rid of all the others? Curry 3C. _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

I probably have around 50 trumpet mouthpieces.
If I could only keep one it would be the Bob Reeves 43WS692s. Most of my playing is big band or rock/reggae/"party band" stuff, and it's the one mouthpiece that's always in my case. _________________ J. Notso Nieuwguyski |

I'm down to about 40. Got some interesting ones: Tottle, DeNicola, Costello, Burt Greene, Jet Tone, AL Cass, Schilke, Curry, Marcinkiewicz, Zottola, Purviance, Bach, & more.
The keeper would be my ACB TA-3 w/T backbore.

I've had up to 50 but I'm down a bit now.
For the Bb, I'd keep the Reeves made Bach hybrid listed below. _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."

Have around 50...
My pick if I could only keep one would be my Burbank Era Marcinkiewicz E8 R Baptist. Simply the comfiest rim imaginable, and a perfect sound for sparkly vintage jazz tone! _________________ TRP: Nova LA
