I am playing a flugle that was scoped out by a friend many years ago. It was a great purchase from New York area. A Yamaha 731 for $600.00. The valves were very tight and would almost seize if I didn't play it every couple of days. |

I own 10 flugelhorns (11 if you count kuhlohorns), but I've been spending a lot of time on my Yamaha 635ST and my B&S Challenger II Bronchon trying to decide which one I like better (the B&S has the edge right now). My flugel mouthpiece of choice is a custom Curry FLM with a Schilke 13B rim downsized 1% with respect to inner and outer diameters.
Why? Because I am able to get close to my ideal flugel sound concept. Also, in the case of the Bronchon, I was able to get one in used, like-new condition for a price in line with what they used to cost before Buffet Crampon acquired the brand and almost tripled the price. (Why 10 flugelhorns? Because I'm a collector, and I can't afford to collect vintage cars.)
However, I have recently been approached by a mysterious figure (he would only refer to himself as "Mittens") who offered to take all 10 flugels off my hands in exchange for a 1964 Olds Super Balanced Depleted Uranium single flue Harpoon (w/custom coprion hand guard from a 1925 Conn Eradicator), Akright-converted handle w/calfskin grip (143xx). I must admit, I'm tempted . . . |

Adams F4 Flugel - currently using a Bach 3CFL.
The more I play this horn, the more I like it. Almost every time I play it I get comments from several people.
Bought if from Trent Austin - great service!!! |

Hello MG, what is the detailed configuration of your Adams F4?
I am planning to order mine in the next couple months.
