Since I don't really know where to post this, I'll put it here.
I have never taken a lesson, but it is for a reason. As far as I can find (and I've been looking for a LONG time), there are no private lesson teachers within 1 1/2 - 2 hours of where I live. I figured with the wealth of knowledge, connections, and presence here on Trumpet Herald at least somebody would know of a few teachers in the area. I live about an hour and a half north of Atlanta and about two hours east of Athens. Do any of you know of any teachers, if not you yourselves, in my general area? An hour away is about the limit of how far I can go.
Thanks, VintageFTW _________________ 1880's Thompson & Odell Boston

You might try contacting Rich Ita, a very well regarded tech located in Marietta. He may well have a client in your area that could help you. |

My Mother and one of my Sisters and her family lives in Blairsville and my other Sister lives in Athens. If I get down there to visit this summer I'd be happy to get together with you for a lesson or lessons while I am there. And then after that if you wish to continue we can use Skype. I'm teaching students from all over the U.S., the UK, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Australia and even Singapore now via Skype and it works great.
Best wishes,

I may just take some lessons with you, John. I live in Dahlonega, so Blairsville is a cakewalk. As for Rich, it never occurred to me to ask him... I'll do so next time I go to get one of my horns fixed (he is my repair guy already). Thanks for all the prompt feedback! _________________ 1880's Thompson & Odell Boston

Small world, my brother lives in Toccoa. Doesn't play trumpet, though. _________________ "After silence, that which best expresses the inexpressible, is music" - Aldous Huxley |
