I've always been impressed with the conferences. A wide variety of performances, clinics, master classes, hardware, texts, and supplies. Keep and open mind and get out and experience as much as you can stand.
And the opportunity to rub elbows with trumpeters of all ilks - educators, enthusiasts, pros, young and old; accomplished and wanna-be's.
Play with all sorts of gear with no real pressure to buy, just for the sake of curiosity - a great chance to just see what's out there.
I've been to several, and have always left feeling like it was well worth it.
Do have some ear-plugs available. The venue has a pretty big impact on the conference - room availability, size, acoustics, clinics, concert venues, and outside ammenities, add or subtract from the events.
Hope to see you there. _________________ Freelance Performer/Educator

I've long thought this about the timing of ITG conferences, though I've been out of college for quite a few years. It's just bad timing in general for a lot of people. Between kids graduating high school and other things that time I've year, I've been locked out of the last several ITG's.
Of course, it gets hosted by some school quite often and that probably determines more about the dates than anything else. I get that.
This one is almost in my back yard and I can actually get there for part of it this time (a gig right in the middle isn't helping). _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |

Boy, if you have some $$$, it is literally the best place ever for a trumpet player. Anything you can imagine...you can buy! _________________ Please join me as well at:
