I recently bought a 2nd gen 8335 that I really like except for one thing. The lowest few notes feel very stuffy to me and I have a hard time making them speak. I'm using the standard 16c4 mp mostly but have the same problem with a 22 throat.
Does anyone else notice this? Is the reverse tuning slide any better? I'd appreciate any comments. |

Maybe you need some time to get accustomed to the new way of resistance? |

Hello all.
You might check the mp gap. If it is over 1/8" that might be part of the feel. _________________ Christian K. Peters

Make sure the screws on the water keys are "finger tight." So tighten them until they are snug, but don't over-tighten.
Experiment with putting your tuning slide a little more in or out.
Check the gap, as was previously stated.
Run a snake through the pipes, including the bell, to make sure there is nothing blocking them. One time I found an old cleaning brush stuck inside a flugelhorn bell. The flugel played a lot better after I got it out... |
