|
|
Hi all,
I just recently purchased a Kanstul Besson Meha C trumpet with the interchangeable leadpipe system. The problem is, I don't have anywhere to put the other leadpipes. Does anyone know of a pouch or anything to keep them safe.

They have piccolo trumpet leadpipe pouches, but they aren't long enough for a standard leadpipe. I couldn't find any pouches for a standard Bb or C leadpipe. These should work. _________________ -Tom Hall-

Hello,
Do you know if anyone makes something bigger? The pipes I have are closer to 11 inches. I probably should have included that in my original post.

Or one could use their C/Bb leadpipe pouch. Trumpet Leadpipe Pouch holds 6 (3 10" C tpt, 3 13" Bb tpt) |

I thought of that too. If it were me I would be concerned about scratching from the tube. But a micro fiber rag around the pipe before inserting would prevent that. |

This is what Eclipse uses for their extra pipes, and they seem to work fine and without the threat of harming/scratching the finish. |

It's not hard to take some felt from a fabric store like Joann's, fold it over and sew a couple of pouches into it. If you leave one side four or five inches longer, it will fold over the top. Then, roll the cloth up in a scroll and it will keep them safe. I did this for the collection of tuning slides I have for my Wilt Thing Trumpet. _________________ Brian A. Douglas

$60 bucks? Brian's, not Flip's , suggestion would be much cheaper. I assume cheaper options to the penny whistle solution exist that your example. |

I've made multi-slot pouch rolls a couple of times. The first time was years back when I reconditioned an hundred+ year old set of my Great Grandfather's gouges (19th century Sheffield Steel!) and the last time for the tuning slides.
I used heavy ticking for the gouges. Flannel (not felt as described above) for the tuning slides. In either case, I was able to find cheep remnants to use. You just need good thread and a proper sewing machine. _________________ Brian A. Douglas

With the small amount of sewing needed one could probably have the local alterations person in the dry cleaners sew it for a few bucks. |
