Hi everyone,
I always hate the scratches and inserting rings on the shank of the mouthpieces.

I found a method: I’m using Hetman 8 Slide Oil, a kind of viscous grease and I’m putting just a little bit, slightly on the shank before inserting the receiver of the instrument.
This is keeping mouthpieces in brand new condition.
Please see my video about that: https://youtu.be/J7I7eY_OyEg
Kindly share this idea with the trumpeters, if you like.
All the best,

The New Age Porno music in the background is the perfect compliment to the visuals!

I'm not sure that was your intention, but either way, it's hilarious!

Thanks for sharing. I think...

And welcome to the Trumpet Herald!

I guess you have found a new niche for visuals.

It's a TOOL. Tools get worn.

I have two trumpets and a flugelhorn and cornet and all are Getzens...
Their Mouthpieces are Monette.
I am respecting them... and I love them.
Greetings to all Brass Players from Istanbul

Absolutely. But I suppose the OP is using a $300 tool. And it sounds like wants to protect his investment. Nothing wrong with that. I wonder if anyone else take steps to protect their more expensive mouthpieces.

Agreed, but which would you rather concentrate on, the finger pointing at the moon or the moon, itself?

You could try putting nail polish on the mouthpiece

I did it years ago. But that did not work unfortunately.
At the end, Hetman 8 did.

It is also keeping MP free from stuck.
