Been working out of this book since the post came up.........I would highly recommend it! Easily replace some of the Clarke studies that you have been practicing for so many years with these very usable patterns. Eventually these patterns will become part of your vocabulary.
The range is practical for trumpet players as well which is a bit of a concern when the material is not trumpet specific.
$20 well spent! |

Dang - I saw a few notes which challenge me especially at speed 🎺🤯
He just posted some more stuff too, I think this may be an ongoing enterprise. I play blues and some light jazz and some of the patterns I found useful and some not for what I play. It’s beyond my understanding theory wise in some instances at my level, but it certainly gave me a new way to think of scale work. I’m starting to apply it to some familiar changes. Every bit of knowledge adds to my understanding, as soon as I understand it🤪
