Hello everyone.

I've been playing saxophone for over 10 years, and that's how I make my living. 2 years ago I saw a Jupiter cornet in a music shop and had to have it.
Now I own an Olds Ambassador, a Boosey & Hawkes Imperial, a Reynolds Contempora and am about to acquire a Kanstul 1530.
I spend time I should be practising my sax practising cornet.
Is there any remedy?

-Daniel

Buy a high-end keyboard and a drum set.
Photography and sports car racing should fill any spare time you have left.

Hi everyone,
I've found my journey into the land of the Cornet to be very interesting.
In some ways i've found Cornet easier than saxophone. Tonguing notes is great fun on the cornet!
They just pop right out! On sax, you start the note, then the sound wakes up, has a cup of tea, checks its emails, and then saunters out of the horn.
The range of the cornet though, is quite strange to me. Having an F# as a low note has meant playing tunes an octave up from where i'm used to them. Both the alto and tenor saxes go lower than that.

There is a reason good saxophones cost 2-3 times as much as good cornets.

ENJOY
