There are some relatively cheap flights out of Chicago if you're in the Midwest. |

Maybe the real question is, do you want to live in Iceland? I'm sure the right person is out there, though. _________________ Please join me as well at:

Iceland is a beautiful country with lovely weather, outdoor activities, and people with great appreciation for art and culture. _________________ Trombahonker's Practice Studio on Youtube |

Iceland is very good country, with months of complete darkness and 45% tax, who wouldn't want to live there ? |

LOL!
My son spent a holiday in Iceland and loved it.
Additionally, for the superficial, a band I know toured Iceland and said you had to beat the women off with a stick. Like I said, "superficial", LOL. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

The shortest day in Reykjavik has about 4 hours of sunlight. The summer sees a 21 hour day. It's similar in latitude to Anchorage, Alaska, except the weather is nicer in Iceland. Look up the average weather - pretty nice!
The 46% tax rate includes outstanding health care, free education through graduate study, retirement services, a host of other social and work services, and even (gasp) support for the arts. _________________ Trombahonker's Practice Studio on Youtube

I want to add a word about the weather. I've been to Denmark a number of times. In the winter, the sun didn't come up until about 10:00 in the morning and went down about 4:00 in the evening. In the summer, the sun never completely set.
One thing that amazed me was that there was something about the calming, never-setting sun energy. There just seemed to be such energy in the air that all you needed was about four hours of sleep a night.
I imagine for some, the weather would be horrible. For me it was wonderful. I imagine it's the same with Iceland. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I remember getting home from gigs in the summer and taking my dog for walks around 2 AM in Lübeck with the dawn already starting to break. On the other hand, those winter nights (and mostly dark days) were sure long! |

First of all, I used to play in that orchestra, 4th generation there...
The facts here above are not all accurate.
Iceland is a great place to live and work, who ever will end up getting it will be in a great place !

Reykjavik is also a waypoint for general aviation planes traveling between Europe and America. I've read many positive things about Reykjavik in various aviation journals.
Unfortunately, the application deadline passed just four days after this thread was started. |
