After an eternity of preferring the regular leadpipe set up I have switched to the reverse pipe. I have recently adjusted my approach to playing the trumpet and the reverse pipe seems to work better with my new setup. |

I picked standard because more of the horns I like use standard lead pipes. I am perfectly happy with reversed lead pipes on some of my horns too. It's just one more variable in a trumpet design. |

Hello all,
I prefer reversed leadpipe. It seems more comfortable and just the right amount of looseness for me. I also think that the leadpipe length of a reversed pipe, lends itself to a more evenness of scale and intonation. _________________ Christian K. Peters

I play reversed leadpipe and happy with it. However, I once got to try two B&S Challenger II's back to back, one standard leadpipe, the other reverse. The standard one had a better sound and projection - more color my ears - sounded more like a standard Bach 37. It may have been due to the bell brace being closer to the bell. But, plenty of other factors that can add or subtract from this equation. _________________ Cannonball 789RL

Reverse for me but I had play in the past some stunning horns with standard leadpipe.
