I’m curious with the various discussions relate to brass instrument mfg not able to compete with China, what if any short term impact will occur with local US mfgs.? Or costs of student horns Yamaha, ... coming from China?
I also wonder what impact this has on US mfgs which source parts, cases from China?
Long term any impact of US mfg. investing in more mfg of musical instruments?
(Please do not turn this into a political debate) _________________ ------

I'd like to think tariffs will actually help US brass manufacturers by discouraging people from buying counterfeit Strads and cheap crap from AliBaba or Amazon. For name brands relying on chinese made input components, maybe it will make Yamaha's cost as much as Bach's.
Or maybe, like guitar manufacturers, they'll offshore to another country like Indonesia, or one of those Indian manufacturers. |

In general it should help local industries to grow and make local products. But usually it takes a lot of time. As for Chinese according to this article continuous investment growth: top 5 countries where Chinese nationals are buying property include USA |
