I just bought a monette B4S prana it is in a pretty good condition, but it isnt shiny like new ones (It doesn't matter too much, but i would like it to be shiny) does anyone know how to shine/ polish a monette? |

I think Simichrome, which can be used on gold, according to the website, is too abrasive for plated mouthpieces. I would try something less, or even non abrasive. |

I don't think gold needs a polishing substance usually. That's kind of why it's popular. Try a soft cotton damp cloth first, then a dry one, with no polish. _________________ 1938 Martin Handcraft Imperial #2 bore, 38 bell

If the rim is not shiny, then perhaps a polish is in order. However, Pranas have a matt finish on the outside. They will NOT be shiny.

Don't polish gold plated mouthpieces. The gold plate is very thin, and you will actually remove it little by little if you polish it. Just leave it. |
