Some time ago, I came into possession of a Paul Cacia Signature flugelhorn mpc. I've always loved it. The odd thing is that the mpc doesn't have any brand on it, it just says "Cacia Signature". Does anyone have any idea who makes/made the Cacia mpcs?
From what I have heard, Paul is not doing well health-wise and has long since retired. Meanwhile, the website doesn't look like it has been touched in ages, so I think asking him personally is out of the question. _________________ Chris |

I have one too. Came with my Cacia flug. Flug was made by Kanstul so I’m quite sure the mouthpiece would have been made by Kanstul. Jim New would have manned the lathe at that time. Jim likely has all the specs.
I’ve never unwrapped the mouthpiece. But the flug was excellent. Jerry Callet used my Cacia as the base for his further refinements. So that excellent Cacia became the Callet Grand Prix, a Cacia with faster response and even better pitch. The Grand Prix is Jerry’s very last horn design. Best flug ever, IMHO.

Interesting, I might have to reach out to him at some point then, thanks for the tip. I'm not really looking for a new mouthpiece at the moment, but if the trumpet version is anything similar, it would definitely be something I'd be interested in. That flugelhorn mouthpiece might just be the most comfortable mouthpiece I've ever played on. _________________ Chris |
