Would it be strange to set the middle of the tongue allready against the roof of the mouth (like in K tonguing)......the tip against the back of the lower teeth and start the attack of the note ( Da -soft/Ta -Loud attack ) with the part of the tongue between tip and middle ........behind upper teeth/gumline.
The middle part (as in K tonguing- holding the K) stays in contact with the roof all the time ? Tonguing with the part between tip and middle ; the middle stays up as if you would hold the k of K tonguing. |

Thanks for the reply Eric! Saying ‘ kü’ when forming the embouchure and leave the middle part of the tongue in the ‘k’ position , tip of the tongue against lower teeth lightly and then ‘mmmmmmm’ to close the lips is an incredible help .....wow....everything is easier .....less blowing, more focused air I think .The way this ‘k(ü)’ arches the middlepart of the tongue is very interresting and helpfull. Is it ok to leave the ‘k’ middle tongue part in it’s natural position or do you try to arch it as far as possible to the front of the roof of the mouth? |
