Why don't you have a mouthpiece maker make you a copy of your 3C with the rim contour of a DW3C, DW5C, or Yamaha 14B4? |

Hi, I'm new to this forum even though I've been playing for several years. I came across this post and since I play with a DW american 5C I wanted to have my say on it. First of all, I say that DWs are still little known and consequently little appreciated. The DW america 5C doesn't even remotely resemble the Bach 5C .... the sound is completely different.
In my opinion it is a very good mouthpiece in the whole range. Dark enough, but not too dark and it lights up if you push it ... without being squeaky. Personally I think it is very, very superior to the Bach 3C, both for comfort on the lips and for sound. Even more superior to the Yamaha 14B4 which I consider a bad mouthpiece. Several safaris between Yamaha, Schilke, Bach and others, but none are equal to the DW. Obviously this is my point of view. So many heads .... so many mouthpieces. To each his own. But I invite you to try the DW american 5C. |

Yeah, it's James Morrison's mouthpiece and if you are so good as he is, it's quite fair to play with a handicap. |

Morrison uses a modified 14b4, not the ones on the market that suck pretty much. If you can use a 14b4 better for you.... however, it remains a hideous mouthpiece. |

If I understand you well it's no more a hideous mp if you modify it? |

That would be a good selling point for Yamaha, a 14b4 James Morrison model. I wonder why they don't sell one? |

Living in different latitudes perhaps in the Netherlands sounds good and there is not even a need to modify the mouthpiece. I repeat if it sounds good to you... very good. Play it. I sleep anyway. |

No reason to get upset, I only want to have more of your knowledge, what exactly was modified on JM's mouthpiece?
edit: and we are here in Holland no way in the same latitude as Australia. |
