Hey All,
What do you all use for instrument insurance (looking to insure my 3 horns)?
I contacted Progressive (which I already use for car insurance), and turns out since I use my trumpets professionally, the renter's insurance does not cover them (you can still sort of make a claim with renters, it only covers a fraction of the worth). I have also heard about Personal Artifact that other people use with other national insurances, and I am getting a quote from Anderson Musical Instruments insurance. Any experience with any of these?
Thanks!

Clarion 100%. Reasonably priced. Easy to use. I also believe they are the official insurance company used by the AFM |

Obviously, insurance is a good idea. I did the same two years ago and turned to this company https://www.victorcknight.co.uk/. They are specialists in the field of musical instrument insurance and all music-related insurance policies and have negotiated discounted rates exclusively for musicians, both professional and amateurs. Besides, they have been serving the music industry's insurance needs since 1971, an important aspect of the experience. It is clear that it is a good company that has been operating for a long time and has good reviews.

I don't know if you can do this with renters insurance. I have the trumpets on my homeowners with a special rider that insures them for everything. If I drop a Monette, it's covered.
Just as a side note, My Monette was on a stand at a rehearsal and I accidentally kicked it. The first slide and lead pipe were bent. I made an insurance claim and sent the trumpet to the factory. The insurance company told me that they would pay up to 9,000.00. I was thinking, I'm covered. It can't cost more than that for a repair. Even if they mad new parts. The bill was 250.00 with a complete cleaning. I felt a little stupid for making the claim. _________________ Joe Spitzer
