I personally have never had the issue, so I really can’t say. I would guess that it would depend on how much of the original oil is required to produce a reaction with the new. If it is a very small amount then the residue in the crooks, connecting tubes and piston ports that might remain after wiping down the pistons (and casings) might be an issue that washing with a detergent might prevent.
If I were you I would oil the valves and, if they stick then, clean the horn. |

I think I will try that then, thanks! If it needs cleaning afterwards, so be it. And I will try and remember the toothbrush thing! |
