My method book “The Singing Trumpet” has finally been published (Carl Fischer). It’s taken 25 years to write, and it’s different. I hope I’ve included something useful for every type of player.
Available from Carlfishscher.com.
Thx for your consideration.

This is an excellent, thought-provoking book. The publisher does a disservice to Mr. Bond and perspective purchasers by not providing more info about the book, such as length and a table of contents.
The book is 184 pages, divided in two. Part I is "Concepts of Tone Production. It introduces the idea of singing as a model for trumpet playing. Lots of text, illustrations and photos, plus a few exercises. There are chapters on articulation, embouchure (including advice on adjustments/changes), the impact of mouth shape on articulation (which includes anchor tonguing and a section on "trouble shooting anchor tonguing" which is helpful for teachers and students), practicing, etc.
The second part is "Putting Theory into Practice." There are many more exercises -- mostly original with some excerpts -- along with helpful text, illustrations and photos. There are chapters on mouthpiece buzzing, sound studies, dynamics, flexibilities, speed techniques (including glottal stopping), extending/connecting registers, etc.
This is one of those rare books that gets you THINKING about how you play the trumpet, and then offers you tools in the form of concepts and practical exercises to help you improve literally every aspect of your playing. Highly recommended! |

Yes, there are several Carl Fischer sites.
Search for Carl Fischer publishing.
Several online retailers also carry it. |

I hope Mr. Bond gives some credit for the concept to Dokschitzer. _________________ WayneG

I love the concepts outlined in this book, the way it is written, and it has helped make some of my own playing concepts more streamlined. |

Hi Peter
Thanks for this. I get the feeling this might be innovative which I like. (I stopped reading the extracts on the web site so i can enjoy properly when my copy arrives ) My tracking number shows New York so she's on her way to Helsinki!
