Anyone using heavy bottom valve cap(s) on their Kanstul Bergeron? I'm currently trying a set from the Brass Lab in NYC. I find that just one on the 3rd valve seems to work the best for me.

I'm curious what you may be using (who made them for you) and the results you are seeing....

Thanks!
John

Clarke:

I have some being custom made right now by Dr. Valve. They will look just like regular valve caps but have the weights built up inside of them. There was enough clearance at the bottom of the valve stroke to hide them in there so I don't have these heavy things that make my horn not fit in a standard case. I pick them up EOM March and will let you know how they work for me. I have heard that the 3rd valve is the ticket though.

I have used one on the third valve only on a WB horn with good results. Wayne uses one occasionally on the third valve, but not always. The Wayne Bergeron model originally came with a single heavy valve cap (in addition to the standard caps), I believe because that was the original Wayne Bergeron spec.
