Ole, what kind of horn was Jerome using in your photos? It sure doesn't look like any Callet I ever saw. Just curious. |

Those who know Jerry know that he is ALWAYS experimenting. The horn he is currently using is a new hybrid he has designed. He took a standard Olds body (as he says nothing special, just something he had), added his Superchops bell, his most favorite, plus his great leadpipe and a bunch of tweaks on bracing etc. He loves the horn, but at this time he says he's too retired to consider producing it. I played the horn a few months back, and it was very nice, but I'd like to get a chance to spend more time with it. Tough to beat a Jazz, Stratosphere, or Superchops though. Best regards, Kyle |

Yes, it is a 70 years old Olds Super he has fixed. Both he and Olaf (a great expert on trumpets and a sound engineer for a living) agreed that some of the best horns out there are old ones.
Olaf (in another picture) playes an old Conn 60B - and is using the W46, getting a better sound than on his regular mpc.
