I'm looking for a floor stand for my vintage Besson. I have a K&M 15213, but the Besson gets stuck on it. I need something with a slightly smaller diameter. Any suggestions? _________________ 1945 Martin Committee

Hi, Hamilton (old school and I use a micro fiber towel over the rubber piece, just cut a hole in the center.), Hercules, or the old spider stands. (I have a trumpet and flugelhorn) I may sell those, I just don't use them.

A Spyder trumpet stand certainly won't get stuck, no matter how tight the bell. _________________ J. Notso Nieuwguyski |

I have the same issue with my Stomvi S3. As others here have suggested, the Hercules stand should work...it works fine for me. The Spyder stand looks like it would work as well. _________________ Best Regards,

If any of youse guys are still here, I have a problem in that my trumpet/flugelhorn lists a little when I use it. I humour it and am careful, but it seems imbalanced with only three legs. Anybody else and, if so, what did you do? Thanks. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I quit using the three legged stands and converted over to 5 legged stands for my Trumpet and Flugelhorn. They are more stable. _________________ Best Regards,

Hey Greg, are you referring to the small Hercules five leg stand with the yellow ball on top? _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

the only drag with the Hercules stand is the rubber feet come off and get lost. i glue mine but they still fall off in time
i replace them with plastic screw protectors from the hardware store.
you just have to find the right size then hot glue it on _________________ ron meza (deadbeat jazz musician) & (TH 5 post ghost neighborhood watch ringleader)

Hi again, I stopped using the Spyder stands years ago, they can seemed unstable to me, but here's an alternative. A few years ago I got a Torpedo gig bag, the leather hard round one. In between sets or when I'm playing guitar I simply put the mouthpiece in my pocket and slip the horn in the bag. Now it's not only near my music stand, but safer than on a trumpet stand and nearly wandering drunk proof. And while I'm playing I can put my harmon or plunger on the lid so it's conveniently there when I need it.

I've been using Spyder stands for at least 25 years and I've never had a horn fall over. Yes, there is enough give in the plastic that the horn will lean a bit toward the bottom valve caps, but the five legs are long enough to keep things stable.
That said, when I play a gig that only calls for trumpet I use my Torpedo Classic case and as mentioned above, it's my trumpet stand. _________________ J. Notso Nieuwguyski |

I make a peg that will work. It will attach to K & M Metal bases, Hercules or my stuff at www.heritagemusicproducts.com
