Not sure what the best cheese cloth is. But I use the MagicFiber Microfiber Cleaning Cloths as part of my weekly cleaning.
- I use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the outside of my valves.
- I use a cleaning rod to run a microfiber cloth through the valve casings.
- I also use a regular tissue to wipe any crud off the vents on the bottom of each valve and out of the inside of each bottom valve cap.

I purchase cheesecloth from The Horn Guys in Pasadena, CA. The 3-yard single pack is $6.00. I cut the cloth into pieces appropriately sized for swabbing the valves and casings, and keep them clean and grit-free in a zip-lock bag in my trumpet case.
