Pianist Barry Harris passed away at the age of 91. This last year or so has been tough on the jazz community.

Wonderful player and great teacher. I’ve never forgotten his metaphor for playing chord changes. He said it was like taking a riverboat ride and stopping at towns - some bigger and more interesting than others.
