I asked someone about this horn.I think I am going to stay away from it.
Probably worth the money though. |

Never played a Bb DEG, but I played a DEG G-bugle, it sucked. Valves always stuck and you had to work to play in tune.

Doesn't give any hint as to the age, so it is not possible to know from the auction where it was made or anything else about it. I don't know where you are coming from or what you are looking for, but for $450 more or less, you can buy a Getzen Severinsen.

I have a few comments on it.
1) It's not a Getzen. It's a DEG, two very different companies.
2) Now, when we were still Allied Music and before the family bought back Getzen we did make horns for DEG, but so did several others. Looking at it I would guess that it is not a model that we made. The finger hook and saddle don't look right.
3) It is not like a 900 Eterna. It has no tuning slide brace or third slide waterkey.
For what it's worth, I'm not saying that this is a good or bad trumpet. I'm just saying that it's not a Getzen or an accurate copy of the 900 Eterna.

Thanks. That means that it is not a horn that was made by Allied, then, I guess.

I played a DEG Signature for a couple of years until a thief took it off my hands. Actually I liked the horn a lot. It had very fast valves and a nice bright tone. However, the intonation was inconsistent. I think it would be a good back up or step up horn for a student. |
