Hi John - thank you for following along and taking the time to listen and comment - I truly appreciate it! While there are SO many ways in which one could approach any of the etudes I’ve recorded - my hope is for inspiration not depression… Good luck with these if you choose to work on them - they really are a lot of fun to play! _________________ Christopher Smith

Chris, out of curiosity, how long does it take you to work these up? Also, from an engineering angle, I like the subtle reverb you've added. Are you using ProTools? _________________ All the Best,

Hi John - thank you for the questions. When I decided to record all 169 of these "Mini Etudes" - I knew I would need a plan other than just recording these straight through 1-169. I started with etudes I could nearly sightread and got those recorded. Then I moved on to recording etudes that I thought would require a day or two of slower/deeper practice. I'm in a phase now with the last 30 or so etudes left to be recorded that I need 3-4 days of tempo work to get them where I'd like and have a fighting shot at getting "clean" recordings. Today I'll record an etude, but have about 7 more to practice in various states of readiness. As I record one, I'll add another to the back of the list and it'll take about a week to slowly work up.
As far as the reverb goes - I am working in Logic Pro and just experimented until I found a reverb/"space" I liked.
Thanks again for the questions and for following along!

I received the book yesterday and played through a few at the end of my practice. I couldn't put the book down. Wonderful short compositions. I hope there will be a recording available soon.
