|
|
Hello All,
At the end of any interval’s first blow, I play through the squeaks and then eventually I get no sound. I rest; but it’s unclear where I’m to restart the study. Should one go to the last full sounding interval or try to restart in or near the last squeak?
Thanks! _________________ Bach Bb and C trumpets

If you play (example) C -> (no sound) -> C, your 2nd blow should be starting on that C.
Sound quality does not need to matter for these exercises, so you only need to notice when there's sound vs. no sound. _________________ More than one trumpet

Thanks. What I mean is the sound coming out is a squeak or noise/ distortion. _________________ Bach Bb and C trumpets

If the squeak or distorted sound is approximately at pitch, keep going. Your mileage may vary, but I usually start the second set on the last interval where at least two of the three notes spoke, no matter how distorted the sound may have been. _________________ Bach trumpet artist-clinician

I agree with PH. Just make sure not to over manipulate to get that "squeak" _________________ Schilke B5
