I got my oil this week, after more than 2 months... (Thank the Brazilian Post Office )
I wanna thank Monster Oil for this free sample. Absolutely great!
Do you plan to have a whole line of eco oil, with slide oil, slide grease, etc? |
You're most welcome!
6 products in the EcoPro line: 2 valve oils, 2 rotor oils, slide oil, and bearing/linkage oil.
Glad you like like it. We are back in stock now after going out for a bit because of demand.
Best,
Tom |
That's great!
Thanks Tom!!! _________________ Robson Adabo de Mello

After using this oil for a few months, I can say I will finally be switching away from my main oil after 13 years.
EcoPro is great stuff and thanks for the sample! Looking forward to grabbing some rotor stuff as well.
Thanks guys! |

What exactly is it that made you decide to switch (genuine interest)? _________________ 1975 Olds Recording trumpet

Short question: Is it necessary to thoroughly clean the valves and casings when switching between original monster to the eco-pro line?
I'm working on finishing up a bottle of original. |

Always better to wash, but certainly not necessary. Hop on over to the EcoPro train before Original is done, you won't regret it! It's all I'll ever use on my valves again.

Hi Monster guys.
I've recently acquired a 25-30 year old Bach Strad. It's been serviced by a very good tech in the area and it's in as good of mechanical condition as it's going to get without a full valve overhaul. The valves just have years of use getting worn down (don't we all...).
The problem is that the valves sometimes stutter on the upstroke. It's not all the time. It happens more often after they've been held down for an extended period of time at the end of a phrase. And curiously the problem seems more pronounced immediately after oiling.
I normally use the standard (lite viscosity) monster on all my horns. Is heavy viscosity Monster something that could potentially help with this issue in older horns? |

Absolutely. You're currently using EcoPro Lite? EcoPro Heavy may be the cure. Or even Smoother, our classic formulation for vintage horns. Email me your address and I'll get you a good viscosity.
Best,
Tom

Gimme EcoPro baby! |
I haven’t posted about this yet, but here’s a belated, public thanks to etc-etc for the request. I’ve now used the oil on my 1960 Conn 6B for a number of months and it works great, and lasts a long time, too. The trumpet has been in the closet for a long time, so the “recommissioning” of it for use was a good test bed for the oil. Thanks also to Monster Oil for the free bottle! _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

You got it Dale. As this product is getting out into the wild, we're discovering EcoPro Lite really works wonders for about 95% of instruments. Seems to work great on many/most vintage instruments as well as the modern ones it was designed for. I've been regularly going weeks between oilings on horns that I play every day - that's never happened for me in my 35 years of playing.
Best,

I just had a great idea, Tom. For those of us with a couple extra bottles of viscosities hanging around, maybe you could send us a horn? Kinda reverse your awesome customer service equation.
I have an extra bottle of Original that probably won't get used for another year at least, given I only have one older horn that needs it. If you could send me like, say, a '56 Committee, I could use that Original faster.
Just a thought. |

I just want to give an update/shoutout to the guys at Monster who went above and beyond helping me get the right oil matched up for my horn. I'm showing very good improvement on my valves on an older horn.
Thanks again! |
