In the quest of having more fun while playing, I ask my fellow trumpet players for a favor. How do you make that kissing noise on the horn? It's neat and could be a lot of fun. Thanks. _________________ A trumpeter has nothing to fear as long as they can play higher than anyone else in the room. |

When I make that sound its just pulling air through your horn into your mouth. Making your buzz work backwards. I play where my lips touch before I start moving air. I don't know what someone with an "open" embochure would do. play around with it.... its one of the first "effects" I started playing with. |

Freddie Hubbard does a great job of this on the live version of Red Clay. Very funny and the audience just eats it up! |
