Lawler - Limited Edition (LE) Model for 2004
The Lawler Balanced Model, built in the tradition of the Louis Armstrong Model Selmer. Only two will be made in 2004. They will feature fully engraved bells, and will be 24K gold plated. The Balanced Trumpet is noted for its very intimate sound. The first one will be very traditional in its tapers, much like the French design, however, it will have a ML bore to facilitate a more modern feel.
The horn pictured is SOLD!!
I am a dealer of Lawler trumpets. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact me. Thank you!
Best always,

You made me laugh at WOW eh? or WOW in Canadian.
All I could say to myself after seeing these pics was "that is a f***ing cool horn". The engraving and valve caps are like artwork.
Tasty looking horn. Roy Lawler is an artist and craftsman.

Yeap another WOW! What a beautiful job!!
And I will tell you folks I play a 1954 Paris Selmer 19A Balanced. And I will say the sound is "unique" from any other horn I played. Trying to find an old balanced Paris Selmer these days in decent playing condition is very , very hard to say the least. I was always hoping someone would make a "good" copy of one. Looks like THIS IS IT. I'm sure when my old Selmer wears out I'll be searching for one of these. WOW!

I own the Lawler Balanced Model. It is a gorgeous piece of work. The blow is a mirror image of the 24B Selmer Paris that I own. I also have a 25B. I intend to buy the upcoming Harry James Balanced Model from Roy Lawler, later this month.
I have played a lot of copies of the Selmer Paris Balanced Models. Lawler is the first craftsman to hit it right between the eyes.

OK, what does "balanced" refer to?
and what's an "intimate" tone?
what's up? _________________ 1946 Martin Committee, Bach 5V |

Look at the picture again and notice that the valves are placed closer to the bell-end of the horn than on the average horn. Some people consider this more balanced in weight distribution. After decades of playing a "normal" horn, it feels odd to me. I suppose you grow accustomed to it in a short while, so long as your arms aren't too short.

What cool horns. Gotta try em. Another reason to go and bother Bruce as soon as possible.
From the stupid question department:
How much less would the horn cost(as a percentage perhaps..so no specific cost need be quoted) in a stripped down version in simple raw brass or lacquer without any of the cosmetics design work? |
