I am having a puzzlement with what kind of trumpet to look at. Someone said their Yamaha Allegro third slide popped out in the middle of a concert so I don't know if I want that. Does anyone have any suggestions? If you would like to know what I play now I play a Holton T602 which sounds really sick.

Are you looking for a student, intermediate or pro model? I play a Getzen Eterna Severinsen Model; which was a pro horn when it was first made, but the current model ( Getzen Eterna 900S Classic) which is a remake of the Severinsen is considered an intermediate model due to the advancements in trumpet design. Also, are you wanting a new or used model. The list of good and very good trumpets is almost endless and the only way to determine what you like is to head for a music store and start trying them. I would not buy one without first playing it unless you are familiar with the model. I bought my current Getzen off Ebay, but I had owned the model before and know what to expect. In any case- welcome to the forum and good luck in your search.- Murph

Don't let a little thing like slide popping discourage you from any horn. Its generally a simple fix of flaring the end of the tube and creating a seal around the pipe.About a $5 buck fix.

What price range are you wanting to stay with?

Thank you for your positive feedback. That kind of stuff scares me just thinking it could happen. OK, I tried a Bach Strad probably 37 because our band teacher let some music company bring upgrading instrunments from the student model.
