Just found a Besson trumpet when I wandering in local shop, tbh it is appealing to me,the condition is fine and it just play well. The owner ask $300 for it,I think this one is worth the price.
The question is this trumpet has no clear evidence to show what model it is,logo in the bell is only "BESSON USA"and no other thing. I checked on the internet and found out it's a Kanstul Besson made in 2003 in 5 digit serial number but beside that I barely know anything about it.yesthe owner, the shop gup and me,we didn't figure it out at all,so if you guys have some clue please help me.
features:
-serial number 23973
-1st valve saddle and 3rd valve slide ring
-only“BESSON USA" on the bell
-double rubber water key
-one brace on main tuning slide
Here's some pic for you guys can see, sorry for I don't really know how to send pictures.

From the photos it looks like you have an F. Besson 800 "International" trumpet, although all of the Internationals that I’ve seen lack a tuning slide brace, and they usually have "International Series" stamped on the bell. It is nearly identical to the Kanstul 900 except the 900 has a reversed leadpipe and also lacks the tuning slide brace.
It’s possible that the tuning slide brace was added later, or it was special-ordered with that custom option. Perhaps the "International" stamp was left off because if was a one-off. Anyway, if it is an International, it’s an excellent horn, looks to be in excellent shape from the photos, and you’ve gotten a great deal.
There were some Besson Internationals that weren’t manufactured by Kanstul that aren’t good instruments. If a Besson was made in the U.S., it was made by Kanstul. |
