Jeff Purtle has a great interview with Lee Loughnane who mentions how valuable the Claude Gordon breathing exercises are to him. Running/walking while holding your breath is a keystone.

I am in a wheelchair, so that's out. Does anyone know of some Gordon exercises for breath that I could substitute this with? Thanks.

Do you think it's possible to do any sort of sustained activity that might get your heart rate up a little bit, and then hold your breath as suggested while doing it?

Likely not a 'Gordon exercise', but try doing this 'timed exhale' routine -
1) Full inhale
2) Brief pause
3) 1 second exhale through a formed lip aperture
4) 4 second pause while maintaining the lip aperture
5) repeat from #3 until out of breath

adjust timing and duration to suit your circumstances and ability.

Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'.
