Trumpeter Will Leathers and trombonist Carlos Jimenez Fernandez played in a brass quintet together as students at the Juilliard School of Music, and shortly after graduation won principal positions in major orchestras - Carlos in the New York City Ballet, and Will with the Nashville Symphony. So although they are only at the beginning of their career, the two amazing musicians and friends are already at the top of their profession. In Part 1 of our conversation they talk about their path to Juilliard, and their experiences studying with their teachers Chris Martin, Ray Mase, and Joe Alessi.
