What types of music are people playing?

Hey everyone!! I'm new to TH, but longtime guest and reader. I've been playing jazz/classical trumpet for 15 years or so, I live and work now in Los Angeles.

I thought it would be interesting to put together a survey to get some data on what types of music people play, their practice habits, things we struggle with, etc. – and share the results with everyone!

I work with tonebase, a company in classical music education, and got this filed under "research project" – so I can use company funds to do a little random drawing and pay some of the participants

(But I'm not trying to advertise or sell anything here, doing my best to keep this in good faith!) If people don't find it interesting, I'll be sure to remove my post and won't bother anyone with things like this in the future.

Not going to give you my personal eMail, sorry. Would fill out your survey, otherwise. You might check and see how many others will not also. It may skew the accuracy of your data base.

I just did the survey. At the very end, there is an "opportunity" to agree to a 30 minute phone interview to earn $30. I declined the opportunity.

Nice simple survey with a couple insightful questions... will be interesting to categorize the written responses. I was happy to do it for "free." Good luck with your research.
