The Brass Pedagogue uploaded to Youtube these excellent clips of Jerry Hey warming up in the studio. The clarity and intensity in his sound is ridiculously good and his attacks are about as solid as it gets. He looks like a IIIB to me but may also be a IV.

From what I can see Jerry might be a type IV -I have some live bootlegs of him on my youtube page and his "sound" is very type IV...like Brisbois...Ironically, I thought he and Gary Grant were both IIIA's but after seeing this video, Jerry might be a IV...

There don't seem to be ANY videos clear enough to see anything useful.
I sure wouldn't be guessing somebody's type without seeing them, or better yet working with them directly.

What a player appears to be doing, even with a clear video, is only a vague representation of what their actual embouchure type actually is. I see far too many players who look like one type and are functionally something different.
