Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking around for a Shulman System for some time now. This is for a student who has developed some really bad habits, and the ErgoBrass just isn’t cutting it. (It’s a great device, just doesn’t help what we are working on…..and is limited to one instrument)
Does anyone know of one for sale, or how to get in touch with ANYONE that might part with it? By far it’d be easier to get my hands on the actual device, but I’ve started exploring other solutions as well…. That said, does anyone else have another contraption that might work very similarly? I’m no stranger to DIY, woodworking, 3D printing, etc. Just need a little guidance!
Thanks in advance, _________________ Friends don't let friends clap on one and three.... |

I have one I could part with, but can’t find the original neck strap. If you are up to finding a replacement alto sax neck strap, send me a private message. _________________ Matt Dalton |

FYI - I use a sax shoulder strap with my Schuman system and prefer it over the original neck strap. |

I’m looking for a shulman system as well. I’ve broken my collarbone and I need some help holding the horn in position. Does anyone have one I can buy? If you want I’d back after I’m healed, I’m happy to sell it back to you. |

Nice gadget, Tim. It looks really efficient and not to difficult to put together. Very innovative. _________________ Pat Shaner

It worked for exactly what I needed it to do.
With a longer pipe you could use it while standing.

Really a brilliant invention, Tim. I had a Shulman System for a few years while dealing with FTSED (focal task specific embouchure dystonia), but I was able to part with it a couple of years ago when another TH member needed it in dealing with arthritis. I would not hesitate to make a trip to The Home Depot for these parts! Thank you for sharing! |

Thanks for the idea. I’ve got a few other broken/injured areas that are going to keep me from doing much at all with my right hand. Hoping with the Shulman I can hold the horn and play with my left hand without having to use my right hand. |

At ITG I had a chat with a trumpet prof at a university in I Alberta who had designed a really smart new system like Schulman, but with a few improvements to the idea.
It was currently being prototyped in Switzerland and I believe was close to being finished.
If I can find his card, I'll pass his name along here so you can check his progress. _________________ www.divitt-trumpets.com

Take a look at TRUMPETHOLDER:
https://jazzlab.com/en/trumpetholder/
It is a holder for a trumpet, like well known JAZZLAB SAXHOLDER, but developed specifically to hold a trumpet, to relieve hands and to be able to play more relaxed. It is available since September 2023 in good music stores.
Here is video by Donna Schwartz too:
