I think Trumpetstud meant "(Full performance and interview, 1985)" -- Chet died on Friday, 5/13/1988.

I’d forgotten about this gem. Incredible trio playing. Love for sale. Wow!

Love that album.
Does anyone of you know what horn he's playing there?

Regards

Fred

I think that's a later-model Buescher Aristocrat, judging from the finger buttons (among other things).

Thanks for sharing. A perfect example of drummerless trio playing.

Definitely a Buescher Aristocrat. He played these on and off from the mid 70s. I have one, feels like a medium bore but surprisingly remains consistent throughout it's range to High C and doesn't tighten up above the staff like most student trumpets. I luckily got given mine but they can be found for less than $200. Another cool cheap horn is the Holton Collegiates from the 50s/60s. They are sometimes referred to as 'poor mans committees'. I feel the Aristocrat plays more evenly for me.

I am not sure what student trumpet Chet is playing here in 1975 though... it has a tuning slide brace.
