Does doing a brushed finish to raw brass change the sound? I saw a brushed raw brass Couesnon Flugel and thought it looked pretty cool. |

The process of 'doing the finish' might cause a change, because whatever previous finish is present has to be removed. And that can mean removal of material - silver plate, lacquer, brass, etc.
If starting with a stripped raw brass instrument, then doing a careful brushed finish (with very little buffing to remove scratches) shouldn't cause much of a sound change. _________________ Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'. |
