I understand that BE uses Callet pedagogy. Does BE summarize Callet's theories so that they, in their totality, are not necessary? Thanks.

A slightly different question is whether there are embouchure techniques or adjustments that are part of Callet, but which are not addressed in BE.
edit: or perhaps Callet techniques that are mentioned in the course of learning BE, but which are not favorably viewed, or not recommended in BE.

I simply want to know if BE supersedes the necessity for Callet as a whole.

| I'm not claiming to be an expert in Callet or BE, but, from what I understand - the TCE technique represents the culmination of Callet's work, and it's definitely different from BE in a number of important respects. |

No, BE takes some ideas from Callet but is not exclusively Callet teachings. Some like myself who do BE have adopted the Callet/TCE embouchure also but you do not have to have a Callet/TCE embouchure to do BE. |

It seems to me that BE isn't the type of technique to discourage anything.
Two big things that Callet does differently is the constant resting of the tongue on the bottom lip, where BE only encourages TOL, and the strong requirement to not overblow, whereas BE seems to use more air (though I don't know that it's required) |
