It looks like ACB has simplified their standard mouthpiece line and has rebranded some popular models.
I ordered a 3C, which arrived with a short shank. I then asked if all of their 3C's have short shanks, and they answered "yes." I have struggled with 3C-sized pieces in the past but am able to play this one just fine. I have no clue why. The sound is big and warm, and the upper register is surprisingly easy.

I have the new version of the 3C and find the same to be true. I think the throat and backbore are more open than the previous version of their 3C.
The entrance into the throat makes it more efficient. |
