Hi,
I have an "American Standard High Grade made by Clev. Mus. Inst. Co, Clev, D-O". The S/N is pretty low. 1885. It is a matte silver finish with a gold-plated inner bell. It plays fairly decent. It's in nearly perfect condition for being 100-year-old instrument. The valves have a copperish color to them but not quite. I don't know if they are indeed copper or a monel/nickel/copper/brass alloy mix? I'm having a hard time tracking down much Cleveland detail in those 5 or 6 years prior to H.N. White picking them up. I'm guessing this is a 1921 or 22 year instrument? It's a hipshot getting any determinate details. Haha. Any ideas? I just found this document with a little more detail!
