Hi guys/gals, Feel free to move/redirect this, if required. Friend asked if his 1974 Olds Ultra Sonic is worth anything. Claims all slides and valves work well and has no dents or blemishes. He has owned it all these years and I believe he is considering selling. There is a Super on the marketplace. Probably, a different model. I know nothing about these horns, as I have used Bach and Yamaha for many decades. Note that he said he Googled it and got wild variations on prices/value. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks all. Greg

I'm pretty sure Ultra Sonic only refers to the method of making the seamless bell. It is not a model designation. I have a Super/Ultrasonic. It is a fine horn and was my main axe until I got a Super Recording.

greg warthan - Post a couple pics of the horn so the model can be identified. Otherwise, as Mike stated, there are several possible horns which used the Ultra Sonic bell. The value could vary a few hundred dollars, condition dependent. Below is a link to an Olds Ultra Sonic P-12 for pics to compare to your friend’s horn.

Thanks for info. I will try to get a couple pictures on here. I am not up to snuff in that area. I'm such a non computer/I.T. person, I can't even spell I.T.! However, I will pass along your suggestions and see what he wants to do. I had never heard of "Ultra Sonic" before so, this is good info. Appreciate all of your knowledge and input.

Check out this site
https://olds-central.com/

The 'UltraSonic' notation is how the bell was formed, it was used on many of the models.

Hi guys, Just thought I'd state that I have not let this die. I may not see the guy for weeks and have not yet been able to pass along the current info and link. Maybe, I'll run into him this week. We don't hang, just work for the same outfit. Thanks again.
