I've sold the Tumultus and Lotus Universal already, but thankfully I was able to make a quick video with all 3 of these horns together.
The Thane Performance is still my preferred choice. There's a certain note and articulation clarity with the Thane that is unmatched by anything else I've played.
The Lotus Universal has been my favorite Lotus model so far. It feels like an improved version of the Lotus Classic. I was pretty torn on letting this horn go.
The Tumultus has a sound very similar to the Lotus Solo, which unfortunately I'm not a fan of. It's too warm for my style. The Tumultus plays smoothly and sounds like a jazz soloist horn, which certain people will appreciate. As someone who does not play jazz regularly, this horn is not a fit for me.
From what I can hear in the video, how you feel about the horns is reflected in your sound (awesome playing by the way, on all 3 horns). In the 1st two excerpts I prefer the sound on the Thane, as it just seems a little crisper and fuller than the Tumultus, and the Lotus is somewhere in between. _________________ 1975 Olds Recording trumpet
