If you really like your 11B4 another option is to go down the custom route and get a maker to use the 11B4 rim (so it feels the same) and they can change everything else so it's appropriate for big band.[/code]

I have a Curry 40 TF, it is very comfortable, maybe the rim feels slightly smaller than the Yamaha 11b4.
I had always thought of the equivalences this way:

40= 7
50= 5
60= 3

But these are just simplifications. I think the 11b4 is somewhere between the Curry 40 and 50.

All to tell you that I don't think you'll have a problem because of the size, with the rim either.

Previously the 600 series only had the S and M cups, commercial sound. Now they also stock the C, TC and TF cups, lots of variety.

As for the M cup, I haven't tried them, but if you get the chance, by all means buy them.

The only bad thing about the Curry mouthpieces is that they are not sold in Europe, so if you really like them, it's a bit of a hassle (and more expensive), having to import them.

And about the 42M, I had it some years ago and sold it, at that time I preferred the 3c size.

Then I realized that a smaller diameter worked better for me, and 42M seemed huge to me.

Surely a Bob Reeves 40 will fit you better, but they are not cheap.

I would try the Curry 50M first.

Mouthpiece Express does ship them to Netherlands in a bit over a week. Well, at least did when I last ordered one in 2005. They were $45 then.
Second hand ones were going for 25 euros on marktplaats.nl

Only thing to watch for is that you will be smited with BTW/VAT and import duties over item+shipping and postnl charges you for settling things with the customs office, which just about doubles their cost in total.

There is a curry 50m on dutch marktplaats, but still a bit expensive to buy blind.

So I took the unpraised 11A4 and maybe I have to stick to that mpc for a while. Maybe the lack of volume is in my own head, nobody is complaining about it.
