I have a really old beat up mouthpiece with hardly any plating left on it, but I love it for high notes as it is really shallow. Should this be replated in silver or chrome?

It's routinely done in silver. There are some posts on TH about "do-it-yourself" silver plating kits. You might try a quick search. HTH - Don

Some of us have used John Lynch in Florida. You can contact him at jlynch137@comcast.net. He has a pretty quick turnaround. It does not cost all that much more to get a piece gold plated, either.
