Hi folks,
I like the appearance of matt finishes, either brushed or blasted. I'm wondering what happens to the finish when a ding is rolled out. Does the process necessarily "burnish" the area of repair, changing the appearance of the matt finish? The likelihod of that is putting me off, not that I ever get dings in my horns!

davo, there is probably no way to make ding repairs totally invisible if the finish has been scored. If it is just a dent, sometimes you can smooth out the surface and it is not too noticable. If it also has a scratch, the scratch will likely still show after the repair, based on my limited experience on a couple of matte finish horns. I bought some mandrels and have rolled out some dents for friends.
